## Solen og huden vår

Solen avgir tre ulike typer ultrafiolett lys, UVA, UVB og UVC. Sollys er viktig for oss mennesker, vi får i oss D-vitamin og risikoen for benskjørhet reduseres. Men for mye sol gir skader på huden og kan til og med føre til hudkreft. Når solens stråler når huden vår, produseres det mer melanin i overhudens pigmentceller. Melaninet beskytter oss mot de skadelige UV-strålene. Det er også melaninet som gjør oss brunere. For mye sol kan føre til at melaninet i huden vår ikke strekker til, og strålene trenger ned forbi det ytre hudlaget. Solskader kan vise seg omtrent som en vanlig brannskade med svie, blemmer og rødhet. Både UVA- og UVB-stråling gir skader i cellene som kan føre til hudkreft. Derfor er det viktig å beskytte seg ordentlig med SPF-kremer eller å unngå solen helt av og til, slik at huden får tid til å hvile og lege.

### Hva betyr SPF?

Solbeskyttelsesfaktoren (Sun Protection Factor) som solkremen inneholder forteller hvor mye av solens stråler som slippes gjennom. SPF 10 slipper gjennom en tiendel, eller gir 90 % beskyttelse. SPF 50 slipper gjennom en femtidel og gir altså 98 % beskyttelse.

## Tips for a sole trygt

Bygg opp ditt naturlige vern og sol deg ikke mer enn 20-30 minutter den forste dagen. Deretter kan du forlenge tiden med ca 10 minutter per dag. Unnga solen nar den er som sterkest pa dognet mellom kl.11-15 og opphold deg ikke i direkte sol i mer enn to timer per dag. Bruk solkremer med hoy SPF (minst 30). Det er viktig med et tykt lag for at det skal gi effekt. Det finnes flere ulike typer solbeskyttelse a bruke for a hjelpe huden pa en solrik dag. Solbeskyttelsesmidler finnes for bade voksne og barn i ulike varianter som kremer, oljer og mousser. Det mange ikke vet, er at man ma smore pa et rikelig lag for at beskyttelsen skal bli den som star pa flasken. Smor pa med jevne mellomrom og alltid etter at du har badet.

## Hold oye med dine fodselsmerker
