En dagkrem eller ansiktskrem kan ha flere ulike funksjoner avhengig av din hudtype og hvilken effekt du ønsker å oppnå. Ønskede egenskaper hos en dagkrem er å tilføre fukt og næring til huden samt å beskytte mot ytre påkjenninger. Mange dagkremer inneholder dessuten solfaktor for å beskytte ansiktet mot solens skadelige stråler.
